Nevern Square

Earls Court, London

Client: Ms L.

An exceptional example of a mezzanine floor installation and complete refurbishment of a first floor, one bedroom flat on Nevern square in Earls Court.

The driver for this project was to maximise the 3.8M high ceilings by inserting a mezzanine floor to house a guest bedroom and extra storage space. The resulting design made clever use of the space in section and allowed for a bedroom to be built without compromise to head heights either on the mezzanine or the floor below.

The final installation has fully bespoke joinery throughout, with a kitchen that fold away behind a paneled overhead door, a common theme in Duck & Shed projects. Above the kitchen is the mezzanine bedroom which made use of reclaimed copper light windows which were incorporated into the joinery. The resulting apartment is both striking visually and architecturally engaging.

This project was completed in 2014 and had a contract value of £160K
